“Depression is a devastating illness which severely limits an individual’s ability to be productive in the workplace. As a professional I know addressing depression in the workplace is a critical issue for all employers regardless of the business they are in. As a physician I have treated many individuals who have suffered from depression and who are very successful in their careers. However, until we are able to openly and honestly discuss depression the millions of people who could be helped will continue to avoid help due to fear, stigma, and a lack of education. What iDwDi is doing in the workplace is long overdue and I am honored to part of this initiative.”
Dr. Dopkin supervises psychiatry residents and teaches courses in Diagnostics, Emergency Psychiatry, and Introduction to Psychopathology. As an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and the Clerkship Director for St. George’s University School of Medicine at Elmhurst Hospital, Dr. Dopkin coordinates Psychiatry Core Clerkships and Electives, supervising third- and fourth-year medical students.
